2024 National Indoor Showcase (Sunday-Wood River)
Brady Buenik is a 2027 RHP/3B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Libertyville, IL who attends Libertyville. Recorded a 7.27 second sixty yard dash time. Larger frame with a compact build with long levers and room to fill. Right-handed pitcher Full wind-up delivery from the first base side of the rubber, hands go chest to belt. Medium-length stride in-line with a high leg lift up to the letters and breaks into a slightly offline arm path. Shorter arm action with a low three-quarter release. Drop-and-drive mechanics, gets away from his front-side. The fastball (2159 RPM) was 84-88 with tons of life and ride through the zone with gradual arm-side run. Landing a well-tunneled slurvy low-70s slider (2168 RPM) with sharp side-spinning action. Manipulating shape and speed with it. Going right after hitters and sequencing well. Knows how to pitch. Working all four quadrants with the heater and locating it effectively. Hitters struggled to read spin. Similar velo band in the second inning. Tons of upside from the 2027 from a velocity and physicality standpoint, will see an uptick with added strength. Also worked out in the infield, good first step with accurate throws from a low three-quarter release. The right-handed hitter starts from a wider slightly open base with an inverted front foot with a big leg-lift trigger. Loose hands and on-plane stroke with some strength at impact and getting extended. Intriguing power potential. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 National Indoor Showcase (Sunday) Top Prospect List.
