The first few weeks of high school action are in the books and there was a lot of movement in the PG/Rawlings High School Top 50. Archbishop McCarthy (Fla.) has secured the No.1 spot after starting 8-0 out of the gate. The Mavericks have been riding on the strength of their duo of Alejandro Toral and Joseph Perez, with the latter of the two reaching as high as 97 mph as a talented two-way prospect. Huntington Beach (Calif.) leapfrogs up to the No. 2 spot after an early season victory over the previous No. 1, Orange Lutheran (Calif.).

Three teams who were previously unranked join the Top 50 after impressive performances at the Perfect Game High School Showdown. Providence (Fla.), Blessed Trinity (Ga.), and Cartersville (Ga.) all put together very strong performances, with Providence and Blessed Trinity meeting in the championship game. The strong core of Elijah Gill, Max Holmes, and tournament MVP Alec Sanchez, among others, makes the Stallions of Providence a dangerous team going forward.

In total nine new teams join the Top 50 after hot starts to the season. In addition to the three teams from the Showdown, Canterbury (Fla.), Allatoona (Ga.), Monsignor Pace (Fla.), St. John Bosco (Calif.), Greenbrier (Ark.) and Oak Grove (Miss.) all find their way into the new edition of the rankings.

Buchanan (Calif.) and Colleyville Heritage (Texas) are the two teams to make the biggest jumps in the rankings. Buchanan has started out 10-0 to start the season and jumps 30 spots into the top 10 at No. 6 overall while Colleyville Heritage is a very impressive 19-1 and jumps 26 spots up to No. 18.
