Weather Delay: Pushing Start to 9:30am-Will Revise Schedule; Will Update After Rain Passes
Event Info   Schedule/Scores Pool Standings
Event Information
Coaches, we appreciate you’ll hanging in there with us as we deal with this weather situation. We have made the revised schedule live. We will have a full day of games tomorrow. Plan for tomorrow is to play it as a showcase/round robin under the same rules as today but the games will be 75 min finish the batter. We will need to turn fields as fast as possible to not run behind, as we have games going until 6:40pm. I know today was a disappointment, but we will still salvage a good weekend, as we have a solid amount of games. In this revised schedule everyone gets at least 4 or more games completed for the weekend. Positive note is that we will have a strong number of college coaches stay over to see Sunday games! Thanks, RG

***Final update:

Coaches, we are excited to host your teams this weekend in Pearland. I wanted to send along some final notes about the tournament.

Rules- we will play under modified showcase rules for this event. Free defensive substitutions and bat your lineup. Pro-tip is to list your hitters on left side, skip a space them put any non-hitters. Identify your pitcher and catcher and you are done.

Game balls will be provided and the umpires will bring them to the game

Field turns- we will need to make sure we have no on field warm ups, or post-game meetings on the fields as we will be tight on time. Squeezing the event all into the turf fields is great, but it puts pressure on us to turn fields quickly

Home and Visitor are already set, so no flip at the plate conference

Reminder that no metal cleats on the turf

We will need teams to draft someone from their team to score the game using the DiamondKast Scoring App. Erica Beach from PG Scouting will be onsite with her team tomorrow doing write ups, so it is important to do the scoring. Scouting department uses the stats to see who to watch on Sunday, etc. See below..

***Important message on scoring: Will be allowing self-scoring with stats using the DiamondKast Scoring App. Each team will be able to use their PG log-in to get into the system once you download the app. The tool functions similar to GameChanger, but it is PG’s proprietary tool. Over the past two weekends we have been testing the tool and the biggest question was “why do this in addition to GameChanger?”; Core reason is that PG Scouting is on site this weekend and will be doing player write ups throughout the weekends. PG Scouts use these stats to identify high performers. Here is an example of write ups that were done at this event last year. Usage of the app is free for the score keeper if they log in using the team log-in. If a team would like to add a scorer and give them DiamondKast scoring access you can email me the request and I will do it. robert@starsovertxsoftball.com
