PG Softball Indoor Scouting Showcase

BURLINGTON, IA - 2025 Perfect Game Softball Indoor Scouting Showcase, November 1 - 2, 2025, saw 15 teams participating in our first indoor showcase of the season, in a four game guarantee round-robin format. Teams utilize this time of year to both finish up their competitive playing season, as well as those that are just gearing up and beginning their season that will take them through the Winter into Spring. There were several talented uncommitted players on-site that took advantage of this opportunity to put their skills on display, which earned their way onto the Top Performers list. Below are some highlights of those athletes that rose to the top.

16U DIVISION

Avery Head (2028 Normal, IL) is an athletic R/R, 1B for Bngsa Angels 15u. Head starts from a slightly open stance, working back to parallel with her stride as a timing mechanism and to gain separation. She does well getting the barrel through the zone and shows good extension through and after contact. Although showing pull-side pop, Head appears at her best working the ball middle right, having no problems keeping her hands inside the ball and driving it into RCF. On the weekend, she collected six hits that included a double and three home runs. Head knocked in nine, scored four runs and struck out one time to finish hitting at a .667 clip.

Alexis Havlovic (2027 Bondurant, IA) is a RHP/UTIL for Iowa Elite Force 16u. Havlovic, hitting from the right side, sets up slightly open, making an early pre-pitch move to parallel. She then collects towards her rear foot with a toe touch, and then utilizes a stride all for timing and to gain separation. Havlovic, with a line drive gap to gap approach, picked up seven hits that included two doubles and a home run. She scored five runs, knocked in eight and while only striking out one time, finished the weekend with a .700 batting average. In the circle, working a fastball, change-up, rise and drop, Havlovic worked four innings, struck out seven and only gave up one hit, while topping out at 61mph.

Meah Oros (2030 Hartford, IL) is a RHH for Illinois Gators 15u Ak, who sets up in a conventional stance and utilizes a lean into the back leg for weight shift and then slight leg kick to stride to gain separation and generate momentum. As one of the youngest in this age division, Oros showed confidence and ability above her age in leading the division in hits and average. A pure contact hitter,  Oros collected eight singles and a double on the weekend. She scored four runs, knocked in nine, drew one walk and did not record a strike out, to finish with an .818 batting average. Offensively, this is a young lady with a high ceiling as she matures and gains strength over the next few years.

Sophia Brown (2028 Agency, IA), playing for Iowa Elite Force Bower, is a middle of the line-up RHH that can knock in some runs after the top of the order does their job. Setting up slightly closed, Brown stays tall and leans into the back leg for weight transfer, then utilizes a stride to start her launch phase. Brown showed the ability to hit the ball with power to all fields in collecting a double and two home runs in her five hits while picking eight rbi’s.  She scored three runs, drew a walk and struck out once to finish the weekend hitting at an even .500 clip.

Avery Bower (2029 Ankeny, IA) is a two way player for Iowa Elite Force Bower. Recently  Bower  has been appearing on the Top Performers Pitching List, but this weekend the RHH got things done at the plate. Starting from a parallel, athletic stance, Bower transfers weight with a lean into the back leg and then utilizes a stride for timing and to gain separation. Bower picked up five hits with a double and home run, showing the ability to go opposite field with power, scored five runs, worked pitchers for three free passes and struck out once, to end the weekend hitting at a .625 clip.

Paxton Weirich (2028 Dow, IL) is a LHP for Illinois Gators 15u Ak. Weirich shows hitters a smooth repeatable motion and delivery with a lively arm.  Working hitters with a six pitch mix of fastball, change-up, rise, drop, curve and screw, Weirich disrupts hitters timing with her change of speed and shows good movement on her spin pitches, while topping out at 57 mph. In fact, Weirich’s curve was nearly unhittable when thrown to left-handed batters.  In her 10 innings of work, she struck out 10, allowed six hits, gave up three walks, and did not allow an earned run,  finishing with a 0.00 ERA and 0.90 WHIP.

Jillian Wosmansky (2027 Adel, IA) is a LHP for Alliance Select Howard who shows hitters a consistent motion and delivery, with solid use of her legs in the drive phase. Wosmansky goes to work in the circle with a simple four pitch bag of fastball, change-up, rise and drop, topping out at 56 mph. Showing the ability to spot the fastball to both sides of the plate and throw her change-up, without tipping it off, for strikes, are keys to Wosmansky’s success. In her 10 innings of work, she struck out six, gave up eight hits, one base on balls, and three earned runs to finish with a 2.10 ERA and 0.90 WHIP.

Sara Pearson (2027 Des Moines, IA), playing for Iowa Elite Force 16u, is a RHP that works hitters with a four pitch mix of fastball, change-up, rise and drop. Showing hitters a smooth repeatable motion and delivery, with good arm whip, and a top velocity of 58 mph, Pearson worked eight innings and sat down 15 via strike out, while consistently being around the plate. Pearson was effective in changing speeds and moving the ball vertically in the zone, giving up 10 hits,  one base on balls, and three earned runs to finish her weekend with a 2.60 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.

Sydney Jarvis (2027 Ft. Madison, IA) is a RHP for Black Dragons who shows hitters a repeatable motion and delivery, with solid use of her legs in the drive phase. Working with a five pitch bag of fastball, change-up, rise, drop and curve, Jarvis showed the ability to spot her fastball, change speeds effectively, and show hitters late movement on spin pitches, while topping out at 57 mph.  In her eight innings of work, Jarvis struck out nine while allowing eight hits, one free pass, and giving up one earned run, finishing with a 0.90 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.

Kadyn Lake (2029 Carrollton, IL), a RHP for Illinois Gators 15u Ak, shows that velocity is not a requirement to be a successful pitcher. Lake, who topped out at 51 mph, shows hitters a five pitch bag of fastball, change-up, rise, curve and screw. With a smooth motion and delivery, Lake displays the ability to spot her pitches throughout the zone, changes speed effectively, and can consistently throw all of her pitches for strikes. She relies on her ability to disrupt the hitter's timing, so as to not allow many pitches to get barrelled up. As a pitch to contact pitcher, Lake struck out four in her eight innings of work, allowed four hits, one base on balls and two earned runs, to finish with a 1.80 ERA and 0.63 WHIP.

18U DIVISION

Addison Snell (2028 Geneseo, IL) is a RHH/RHP for Nebraska Gold 309-18u. Snell sets up in a tall, slightly wide parallel stance, torso slightly open to the pitcher. She then coils slightly as she leans into the back leg for weight transfer, and with little or no stride she drives the hips to launch her swing. Snell uses a solid lower half,  hitting from a firm front side, and showing a quick bat with nice extension in the swing, generating power to all fields. Snell picked up seven hits, which included one double and three home runs. She scored five runs, and amassed 11 rbi’s finishing with a .636 batting average.

Alivia Gillespie (2026 Aledo, IL) is a LHH for Lady Hitmen 18u Crawford. Gillespie, a recent Black Hawk College commit, sets up with a parallel stance, slightly into her legs, transferring weight with a lean into the back leg and then a stride for timing and to gain separation. Gillespie shows a fluid easy swing, working her hands inside the ball utilizing the whole field. Only playing three games, Gillespie picked up four hits with a triple and home run, she scored three runs, stole two bases, and knocked in seven, finishing with an even .500 batting average.

Natalie Thomson (2026 Aledo, IL), playing for Lady Hitmen 18u Crawford, is a RHH  who is also a recent Black Hawk College Commit. Thomson shows an athletic set-up, parallel with a slight hinge at the waist, utilizing a stride to gain separation and generate momentum for her swing. With a line drive approach, Thomson worked the ball gap to gap and picked up five hits with two doubles and a home run. She scored six runs and knocked in two, finishing the weekend with a .556 batting average.

Hannah Ekern (2028 Independence, WI) is a L/R Outfielder for Wisconsin Fastpitch Academy. Ekern sets up in an open stance, sitting into her legs, and will gather towards her back leg to transfer weight and to get back to parallel before striding to launch her swing. With a nice line drive approach, Ekern worked the ball to all fields in collecting five hits with a double and home run, picking up five rbi’s while hitting at a .455 clip.  Echern also scored four runs, and stole four bases, while showing plus speed and aggressive base running that put added pressure on the defense.

Ruby Bartholomew (2026 Eleva, WI) is a RHP for Wisconsin Fastpitch Academy. The St. Catherine University commit, shows hitters a repeatable motion and delivery and goes to work with a fastball, change-up, rise and curve. Topping out at 57 mph, Bartholomew worked 13 innings and struck out a weekend leading 28 hitters, effectively spotting her fastball, changing speeds and throwing a late moving curve that resulted in several swing and miss attempts. Bartholomew allowed three hits, walked four, and did not give up an earned run, finishing with a 0.00 ERA and 0.54 WHIP.

Rylee Hraby (2026 Medford, WI) is another fine RHP for Wisconsin Fastpitch Academy.  Hraby, a University of Wisconsin- River Falls commit, showed hitters a consistent motion and delivery, with good legs in the drive phase and a lively arm swing. Working with a four pitch mix of fastball, change-up, rise and curve, while topping out at 57 mph, Hraby moved the ball around the zone and effectively changed speeds, showing the ability to throw the change-up, in any count, for a strike. In her 8.2 innings of work, Hraby struck out 15, allowed four hits, walked three and gave up three runs to finish with a 2.40 ERA and 0.81 WHIP.

Sydney Lovrien (2026 Clarksville, IA) is a RHP for North Iowa Heat 18u Red. Lo vrien shows hitters an aggressive motion and delivery, with solid use of her lower half in the drive phase, utilizing a leap to close distance on the hitter. Lovrien goes into the circle with a five pitch bag of fastball, change-up, rise, drop and curve, topping out at 58 mph. Lovrien found success working the ball vertically in the zone and spotting her fastball, not being afraid to throw it inside. In her 11.2 innings of work, she struck out 13, allowed 14 hits, walked three and gave up three earned runs finishing with a 1.80 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.

Makensie Westfall (2028 Sherrard, IL High School) is a RHP for Nebraska Gold 309-18u. The lanky Westfall, shows hitters a repeatable motion and delivery with an aggressive arm swing while working a four pitch mix of fastball, change-up, two-seamer and knuckle curve. While topping out at 57 mph, Westfall changed speeds effectively, showed good glove side run on her two-seam, and had some nice horizontal and vertical movement on the knuckle curve to strike out eight in her 10 innings of work. Westfall allowed eight hits, gave up two free passes, and five earned runs to finish off the weekend with a 3.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...

They dip into Mississippi to land one of the premier arms and one that’s stood out on the circuit for quite some time. It’s a fast arm and the athleticism certainly shines working down the slope. The velocity has continued to tick up over the last calendar year and reached into the low-90s towards the end of the summer. He’s confident in his changeup and the breaking ball is...

There’s a lot of talent throughout this 2026 class, filled with the big-name stars, to talent that spreads across the nation. It’s been a lot of fun seeing these prospects grow and develop over the years, from the days of watching some of these guys at the 13/14u days at events on the circuit, to now where they are all graduating seniors in 2026. There’s been new faces who have popped along the way over the years, even in 2026, where some players who were relatively undiscovered, have come out and made a name for themselves with a statement performance. Between the familiar and the new, there’s a lot of names on this list that are going to be quite regularly talked about on the circuit, and for good reason.  Whether it’s PG All-Americans or not, there’s a lot of names with superstar potential at the next level. We’ve got 14 PG All-Americans...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 | Class of 2028 These guys might just be entering high school, but they've certainly already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, especially with their abilities on the defensive side of things.  C: Xavier Rodriguez (Logansville, GA) Rodriguez is a polished defender with real arm strength behind the dish, while showcasing the ability to impact the baseball with authority to all fields evident by thirty of his sixty-five hits going for extra-bases including seven bombs. He handles high-level pitching extremely well, commands his staff and his offensive prowess makes him a true two-way asset. 1B: Cooper Knight (Buda, TX) Knight is a smooth operator at first base with plenty of range, fluidity and agility in his footwork around the bag. Best Game I Saw: The Dream NTL 18U vs. MBA Scout Team Murphy Jupiter always brings out the best, and we got fireworks from the jump. Turner Marshall gave The Dream an outstanding 4+ innings of work on the mound, holding a lethal MBA team at bay with Chance Dixon, Derrick Carter, and Ellis Appling providing an offensive spark out of the gate for the Georgia based boys. However, it was only a matter of time before the talent on the other side got going, as MBA erased a 3-run deficit in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead led by a Parker Loew HR. The Dream then took command again in the Top of the 6th, before MBA punched right back with a huge 5-run inning in the bottom half capped off by a clutch RBI single from Matthew Kerrigan, ending a wild sequence with tons of notable performances from two very competitive rosters. Best Tournament Performance I Saw: Surely someone has already brought this...

Nebraska Cornhuskers 2025 Highlights: The Cornhuskers were a difficult team to figure in ’25 as they finished with 33 wins, played just .500 (15-15) in the Big Ten but had some big wins at various times during the season and got hot at the right time. They knocked off then #16 Vanderbilt in the second game of the year, beat #5 Oregon State 2-out-of-3 at home in late March and then got hot at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha to win the Big Ten Tournament. They beat Michigan State in a 10-inning thriller before taking care of #4 Oregon, knocking off Penn State and then shutout #13 UCLA to punch their ticket to the Chapel Hill Regional. Head coach Will Bolt has now led his alma mater to three conference titles and three NCAA Regional appearances during his six years in Lincoln. No different than when he was a player, Bolt’s teams play with passion and toughness, this was never more...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 You like athletes? You like defenders who can impact a game at any given point? Look not further than this class as it's loaded from coast-to-coast with elite defenders all over the diamond.  C: Brogan Witcher, Bakersfield, CA Our scouting staff got several strong looks at Witcher whether that was at the Summer Kickoff, Sophomore National or the Underclass All American Games where he showcased his strong overall skillset and especially his advanced ability behind the plate. His 6-foot-3,180 pound build looks like one that will fill in quite nicely and be that big and physical catcher’s frame. His arm talent is undeniable where he gets it out quick and runs it up to 79 mph on throwdowns to 2nd (1.84 pop). Besides the standout catch/throw ability, we’ve seen him frame/receive strong arms and block it well during...
