Perfect Game Softball Stars Over Texas Aggieland Scouting Showcase, June 7th - 8th, 2025. Twenty-two teams saddled up in the lone star state to compete in the Stars Over Texas Scouting Showcase. The Texas weather wasn’t the only thing heating up over the weekend, some great competition was found heating up the diamond! To conclude the last day in Aggieland, the Texas Blaze HTX Aguirre was crowned the tournament champion. Throughout the tournament many outstanding athletes highlighted their skills for more than 20 college coaches and below are some that caught the eyes of our scouts on site. 

Malayah Vaughn (2027 Monroe, LA) is an athletic outfielder for the Louisiana Bombsquad Elite. Vaughn uses her speed to her advantage, gaining a huge jump on her first three steps to take 60 feet at least once a game. She presents home run power through a neutral stance at the plate. She has a strong load and heavy use of her legs to drive gap to gap. Along with her home run power, Malayah will sneak a bunt in at least once a game to utilize her speed. Malayah lit up the stat line, hitting .571 through seven at bats, with four hits one double and five RBIs. If she learns to place down the lines she will be safe almost every time. In the outfield, Vaughn has a big capability to cover a lot of ground. With a great drop step and good speed, she is able to get balls in the gap. Keep your eyes on this great athlete. 

Talina Valdez (2026 Corpus Christi, TX) is a versatile 3B for the Diamond Athletics. Valdez brings a very active approach at third base with her athletic build. Being in the hot corner, her pre-pitch step gives her a huge advantage on hot shots. Her quick transition and killer glove work helped her team turn a couple 5-4-3 double plays. Along with her defensive abilities, Valdez is vocal and levelheaded against tough competition and in high stress situations. This right-handed hitter has more of a flat bat path which helps her connect with higher pitches. Talina shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields, which is very impressive. Her OBP of .412 shows her ability to find ways to get on base, adding to her team’s offensive weapons. Valdez brings a high IQ on both defense and offense and was fun to watch.  

Aubrey Withers (2027 Alvin, TX) Aubrey Withers is a massive presence in the circle standing at 6’0. With her long limbs, she gains ground off the rubber and creates great arm whip to max out at about 65 MPH for her fastball. Along with her great size, she is able to work the vertical pitches as well as change speeds to throw batters off balance in almost every at bat. Withers is not only a pitcher, but she utilizes her size on the other side of the ball standing in the right-handed batters box. Being so tall, she is able to destroy the pitches at the top of the zone.  Aubrey sits wide and low in her legs and uses more of an upper half swing to get through the ball. Even with little at bats, she shows she is productive bringing in 3 runs with 2 hits. With some strength training and continued development, she will be a serious threat on both sides of the softball. 

Rylee Puente (2025 Bryan TX) Puente a true threat in the circle. The right-handed pitcher works all sides of the plate and is not afraid to hammer down on the inner half. Even though Puente stands at about 5’6, she is able to max out in the low 60s on the mound. With her athleticism she moves well in and out of the circle fielding her position well. She is the ideal vocal leader in the circle and brings a lot of confidence on the defensive side of the ball doing whatever it takes to get a win for her team. On the offensive side of the ball, Rylee stands very neutral in her legs on the right side of the plate. Puentes stands tall on the backside and uses her legs very well to create great gap to gap power. She keeps her hands high through the zone giving her more opportunity to use the entire field to find base hits. She put up an imprewsive .800 batting average going 8 for 10 with four doubles.  She is an impressive two-way player to keep your eyes on.

Hannah Pettyjohn (2027 College Station) Hannah Pettyjohn is an outfielder for AM Academy who knows how to put her body on the line for her team. Pettyjohn showed massive athleticism running into fences and robbing home runs in multiple games. She has true command of the outfield and has the ability to not only put herself in the right location but her left and right fielder as well. Offensively Hannah stands on the right side of the plate in the back of the box. She uses the power from a leg kick to drive her back side through the ball. She presents as a line drive hitter, but with more extension and drive she could get balls out of the park. Pettyjohn likes to drive the ball to the pull side. Also has the capability to lay down a bunt in any situation. 

Siena Sauceda (2026 La Marque, TX) is a lefty slapper who plays for TSF Elite W.E.S. Sauceda being a slapper has great timing through the box, keeping her barrel flat giving her more control on her hits. She is more of a ground ball slapper finding the holes in the defense. She has a high IQ and her aggressiveness on the base path helps her take 60 feet totaling six stolen bases on the weekend. As an outfielder, she plays more centerfield. Great outfield command gives her an ability to put some trust in her left and right fielder. Siena’s strong first step gives her a great jump in both directions. She showed no fear laying out for balls to make the out for her team. 

Chasity Davis (2026 Clyde, TX) is a second baseman that plays for the Texas Elite. The right-handed hitter uses a wide and low stance to generate power utilizing her legs in her swing. Davis has a strong top hand giving her a solid barrel to find the gaps on the right side of the field. With a little toe tap in her load, she uses a good back knee drive to be able to generate some warning track power. Davis showed out with a .667 batting average and an outstanding .700 OBP through nine at bats. Not only does Davis use her athleticism to cover balls well up the middle in the infield, but she also has a strong first step in the outfield as well to help her cover some ground in the grass. She is athletic and versatile and very fun to watch.

Angelina Hernandez (2025 Mathis, TX) is a 2025 catcher that plays for Diamond Athletics. Hernandez has a great lower half build that gives her tremendous power. Angelina gets to a power position at contact perfectly on the inner half of the plate and extends through the zone with her top hand to be able to shoot balls over the left field fence. Huge home run numbers coming out of the weekend. Hernandez brings a great athletic presence behind home plate as a catcher. With her quick transfer and drive from her legs she has no problem shutting down the run game. Sitting low in her squat, Angelina is able to get under the ball when framing the pitches lower in the zone to get the strike calls for her pitchers. She has a strong glove and framing skills and was a great leader behind the plate.

Taygen De La Garza (2027 Corpus Christi, TX) Taygen is a power hitting pitcher who plays for the Diamond Athletics. Bringing in an eye opening 1.286 slugging percentage, De La Garza gets it done in both the batter’s box and the pitching circle. Standing on the right side of the plate, De La Garza’s timing was on point for all pitches around the plate. With a slight bat tip in her load, she was able to create the perfect contact point for the low pitches to drive them into the gap. Taygen sits in her legs well to give herself lots of power coming through her back hip to drive through the softball to create more flight. Sitting at about 57-60 MPH, Taygen works both sides of the plate well, however she gets more of her outs on the outer half. She came up with 7 strikeouts on the weekend and an opposing batting average of .261.
