12U Division

Carolina Elite 09-Tucker ran through the highly competitive 12U field unscathed to capture the PG Sunday Spring Break Shootout Championship. Pacing Elite throughout the day was a steady defensive effort and sound pitching. Their opportunistic, and at times overpowering, offense keyed all of their victories on the day. The fundamentally sound and highly skilled Elite-Tucker club was tested only by the Comets-Trego nine as Elite went undefeated, scoring 31 runs in four games, while only allowing eight. Comets-Trego, a club that already has a PG Championship trophy to its name this spring, also played well in making it to the championship contest. The Comets only dropped two games, both to the Elite-Tucker club, in very well played, highly competitive contests.

Congratulations to Carolina Elite-Tucker on a well-deserved championship. The overall talent and skill of this particular group is quite noticeable. The individual abilities of the Elite team dictates that many of its members have bright futures in the game. A tip of the cap also to the Comets-Trego, for once again making a trip to the championship round, showing all in attendance that they are a fine team and one that will be heard from often this spring and summer.

14U B Division

Although the field wasn’t very deep, the competition between the three clubs on the 14U B side was fierce. At the end of the day, Athletes Lab-Rembert strung together three straight wins to capture the PG Silver Championship trophy over the Diamond Dawgs Yellow and Carolina Cobras-Paradiso. All three teams had their moments throughout the day, as no team truly dominated until Athletes Lab put together their strong finishing kick to win the day.

Congratulations to all three teams for playing with true grit and determination the entire day. Well-deserved and certainly earned kudos to Athletes Lab-Rembert for their strong stretch run to capture the Spring Break Championship.

14U A Division

Carolina Elite-Alley rolled to the 14U A title with the usual Elite organization mantra of solid pitching, air-tight defense, and steady offense that was often unrelenting. This version of Elite softball saw many players come through in the clutch. The red and black-clad champions play with a style much above their age group and many who donned the Elite uniform, at least on this day, show that they have a bright future in the game. Congratulations to the 14U A champions, the Carolina Elite-Alley.
