2015 Top Prospects
- OF - 2015 - Chadbourn, NC
Jenkins is a dual threat at the plate and on the mound. An exceptional athlete he ran a 6.46 60, threw 89 from the outfield, and topped at 85 on the mound. He profiles as a speedy centerfielder that will pop to the top of a lineup. Grades out with above average tools across the board.
- RHP - 2015 - Greenville, SC
Schofield showed his athleticism all weekend throwing 88 from the outfield, and topping out at 89 on the mound. Schofield uses his clean mechanics and quick arm to attack hitters with a heavy fastball coupled with a mid 70’s curveball and change up.
- RHP - 2015 - Raleigh, NC
Andrew Papp has the type of frame scouts drool over at 6’4” 195 lbs and he has plenty of time to fill out. The North Carolina native possesses a high tempo repeatable delivery and showed plus command of his fastball which topped at 89. Papp flashed a mid 70’s slider and change up as well.
- OF - 2015 - Wilson, NC
White is a rare breed of game changing speed that profiles to hit atop almost any lineup. He ran a 6.46 60 over the weekend, and threw 87 from the outfield. White lined a ground rule double to deep left field during the game, and showcased his speed by easily stealing third.
- SS - 2015 - Silver Spring, MD
Don’t let Cook’s smaller stature fool you; this kid is a gamer. Defensively Cook has a very quick release, and throws well from all angles. A quick twitch athlete that couples speed with power as he showcased by homering over the 375’ gap in LCF during game action.
- OF - 2015 - Lucama, NC
Williams-Sutton profiles to play a corner position at the next level. At 6’3” 222 he is an imposing figure that many would expect to see on the gridiron, but surprise-surprise he is a member of his HS soccer team. Williams-Sutton ran the 60 in 6.76 seconds showing his ability to couple power with speed. There is plenty of present strength and power in his swing. If he adds more barrel to ball ability he could really be a force to be reckoned with.
- RHP - 2015 - Marion, NC
Newman profiles to be a power arm coming out of the pen at the next level. Although there is some effort involved in his delivery he pitched 85-88 while topping out at 90. He has a quick delivery and short arm action that is deceptive on hitters.
- C - 2015 - Charlotte, NC
Jones is a defensive oriented catcher that likes to throw. During workouts Jones threw 83 from behind the plate, and registered a 1.87 pop time. In game action he used a compact swing to generate good bat speed. He routinely made hard contact in the games.
- RHP - 2015 - Lenoir, NC
There’s a lot to like in Davis’ 6’5” 185 lbs frame. His long arm action generates whip as he pitched 82-85, and topped at 87. He used a mid 60’s curveball and low 70’s change up to keep hitters off balance. He’s one to keep an eye on as he continues filling out and growing into his body.
2016 Top Prospects
- SS - 2016 - Simpsonville, SC
Bodison projects to be a five tool player that is coveted in today’s game. He showcased his plus arm during infield workouts in which he was 90 across the diamond. At the plate he showed an advanced approach and plus pitch recognition beyond his years. Bodison has a knack for making the game look very easy both on defense and as well as offense.
- SS - 2016 - Fayetteville, NC
Locklear had an all around good weekend running the third best 60 time at the showcase at 6.69 and also threw 82 across the diamond. Has athletic ability to stay at SS showing lateral range with a quick transfer and release. At the plate has a loose relaxed set up and swing with good bat speed. Uses mid field approach and makes good contact. Shows a high average hitting approach.
Edward "EP" Reese
- OF - 2016 - Lexington, NC
Reese is a strong armed speedy outfield that covers a ton of ground as he takes good routes and gets great jumps. During workouts he ran the 60 in 6.78 seconds, and threw 90 from the outfield. Reese profiles to hit at the top of the order where he will use his fluid swing to hit for a high average.
- 2B - 2016 - Archdale, NC
Blakeney showed very well with his glove at 2B over the weekend when he made two sliding tops up the middle in consecutive innings. He ran the 60 in 6.94 seconds, and threw 85 across the infield. He posses a lot of present strength, which translates into pop at the plate. He keeps is hands back and showed good bat speed giving him the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the park.
- OF - 2016 - Burke, VA
Neville is a great athlete that ran a 6.79 60, and threw 91 from the outfield. If that wasn’t impressive enough his bat showed well in the games. He profiles to be a top of the order guy that can do some damage to all parts of the field. He may not catch your eye at first glance, but he’s a serious gamer.
