Rigney is an already big and strong but still very projectable righthander with the classic Texas power pitcher's approach on the mound. He comes after hitters with a lively fastball that tops out at 94-95 mph now, and will likely reach higher as he physically matures, and a hard mid-80s slider. Rigney went 10-2, 0.72 as a junior at Midway High School with 117 strikeouts in 74 innings.
