2015 West Coast Under

Orange v. Navy Highlights
8/23/2015 9:50:18 PM
Conor Tope (2017 C, Capistrano Beach, CA) threw two shutout innings and showed good command of three pitches. The righty struck out four in his two innings thanks to good feel and location of a fastball up to 82 mph, a breaking ball in the upper-60s, and a changeup in the mid-60s.

Logan Cole (2017 C, Livermore, CA) is another primary catcher that showed some feel from the mound. The righthander struck out three over his four innings of work, effectively using a fastball up to 83 mph and a sharp curveball in the low-70s.

Joshua Goda (2017 C, Mission Viejo, CA) showed similar aptitude from the mound. The physical, well-proportioned righty struck out one in his brief one inning appearance, and displayed an aggressive approach, using an 83 mph fastball and a 76 mph curveball with 11/5 shape.

Brandon Bohning (2017 SS, Simi Valley, CA) went 2-for-3 at the plate, showing good bat speed and balance throughout his swing. He also performed well in the field, with good arm strength and instincts at shortstop.

Caleb Turner (2018 OF, Corona, CA) went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. The athletic outfielder has good plate coverage, a nice measured approach, and a line-drive swing plane.

AJ Speer (2018 OF, Pleasant Hill, CA) went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles. He does a nice job of staying inside the baseball and has good barrel control.
