Spencer Van Scoyoc (2016 LHP, Cedar Rapids, IA) got the start and was dominant today for the Orange team striking out 7 in 3 innings allowing only 1 hit. His fastball was 82-86 mph today and showed a very tight curveball today. The Arizona State commit showed his two way talent as well today going 2-3 with a double.
Connor Van Scoyoc (2018 RHP, Cedar Rapids, IA) was the second pitcher for the Orange team and is a very interesting young arm. He can already run his fastball up to 84 mph and showed a smooth, quick arm with much more velo to come.
Heliot Ramos (2017 OF, Maunabo, PR) has an athletic build and showed batspeed and also good arm strength throwing our a runner at the plate.
Kidany Salva (2016 C, Vega Alta, PR) showed a nice easy swing going 2-3 in game 1
Zachary Daniels (2015 RHP, Robins, IA) worked three very quick innings allowing only 1 hit. His fastball was 86-88 mph today and showed a nice changeup with good sink, Threw to his spots well with deception
Porter Hummel (2016 LHP, Hawarden, IA) struck out 5 in 3 IP today and was up to 82 mph with life.
Jarred Wood (2017 RHP, Cedar Rapids, IA) struck out 7 in 3 IP today. FB was 82-85 mph
Kyle Crowl (2016 3B, Council Bluffs, IA) was no surprise to see him hit like he always does going 3-3 in the game today with a double. Also had top IF velo throwing 89 mph.
