Tyler Cattapan is a 2007 C/3B with a 5'8'', 185 lb. frame from Aurora ON, who attends Cardinal Carter HS. He has a short, stout build with very good present strength. Cattapan has good quickness in his hands and feet that he uses well defensively. He stays short in all his actions. Cattapan has very good arm strength when he stays on top of the ball and had a best pop time of 1.95. He will drop down side arm throwing occasionally and that makes his throws tail. Cattapan has the hustling type attitude that coaches like to see in a catcher and is full speed all the time. Offensively, Cattapan hits out of a closed stance with a busy loading action with his hands. He shows some hand strength and bat speed and made consistent hard contact to the middle of the field. His game approach was solid and consistent and he looks like a high average type of hitter. Cattapan's a good all around player who is max'ing out his tools.
