Jay Flynn is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Edgewood, KY who attends Dixie Heights. Slender young build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.24 runner, has clean and well balanced infield actions on defense, moves through the ball well, soft hands out front, arm strength is starting to develop, projects well on defense. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread and balanced stance, simple load and timer, high contact approach that he executes consistently, bat speed will keep improving with additional strength. Also pitched, has a simple turn and throw delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot. Filled up the strike zone with fastballs up to 81 mph. Mixed in both a soft slurve type slider and change up and showed very good pitchability for a secondary pitcher. Excellent student. Named to the Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
