Jason Adkins is a 2018 1B/3B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Pioneer. Large frame with a solid, athletic build and present strength throughout. Ran a 7.76 sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman, squared and centers the ball well and work through transition with clean glove actions. Flashed good range when coming of the bag with smooth footwork while pivoting to second base. Throws created some carry across the infield with good accuracy to the bag at 70 miles per hour. Large target and receives the baseball well with soft hands. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Generates occasional shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, naturally lifted swing plane with present strength at contact. When squared, shows the ability to drive the baseball deep into the outfield gaps with authority. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice when front side trigger arrived on time. Very good student as well.
