Clint Hargrave is a 2019 C/2B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Monroe, LA who attends Ouachita Christian HS. Medium frame with an athletic build an beginnings of strength. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Ran a 7.99 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly side set stance while setting up to receive the baseball. Gains some ground to the bag while working out of crouch with smooth pace footwork. Works through transition with clean glove action and releases from a full arm action that showed some quickness through extension. Throws generated occasional carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 74 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.00. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing soft, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Flashed some range to glove side with the ability to throw while on the run. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front and works through transition with smooth exchanges. Releases from a slightly taller throwing position that generates some carry out of hand across the infield, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and high back elbow set. Lower half launches with linear action into contact producing good shift. Hands comes through the zone on a compact, line drive plane that produces occasional leverage through extension. Primarily used the middle of the field and flashed the barrel control to hit to all fields when front side trigger was on time. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Outstanding student as well.
