Alfredo Martinez is a 2017 3B/ with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Berwyn, IL who attends J Sterling Morton West. Medium frame with a solid build and present strength. Ran a 7.63 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling out front with clean exchanges while working through transfer. Taps baseball to glove while gathering to the throw. Releases from an overtop arm slot that produces some carry across the infield, topping at 77 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and leg lift trigger. Showed quick hands while launching to contact on an inside path. Creates some should tilt while barrel comes through the zone on an uphill plane producing line drive contact between the gaps. Flashed the barrel control to work to opposite field as well when balanced. Flashed bat speed and strength at contact that produced solid carry to the gaps when squared. Good student as well.
