Austin Moore is a 2018 C/RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends Lindbergh HS. Medium frame with medium build. Plenty of room to put on additional muscle as he continues to mature physically. Straight stance with a toe tap trigger and high hand set at the plate. Rotational lower half mechanics with a mid-field, opposite field approach. Shows some barrel control and will develop additional bat speed with maturity and strength. Smooth lateral movments with soft hands while receiving behind the plate. Keeps thumb underneath baseball well while framing. Soft body on blocks with fundamental mechanics. Shows a longer arm cirlce and release while throwing. Momentum leaks to third base side on throws with a tendency to throw uphill. On the mound shows some cutting action on fastball. Tends to land open at times and arm action works cross body. Changes speeds with a softer curveball that has 10/4 shape. Development of lower half mechanics and downhill momentum will sharpen offspeed and velocity. Good student.
