Vaibhav Verma is a 2017 RHP/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Elk Grove, CA who attends Pleasant Grove. Medium-large frame with solid, strong build throughout body and still has projectable room to fill remaining. Primary pitcher, has some deception in delivery beginning with hunch back onto backside at balance point. Opens hip way open and tends to fall off the mound to 1B side. Arm action is short and clan to mid three quarters slot, generates solid downhill plane on pitches, FB worked 73-77 and touched 78 MPH. Generates solid life on fastball, can both run it to arm side and cut to glove side at times. Mixed in CB with 11/5 shape and quality depth; also showed slider with solid horizontal life, running away from right-handed hitters. Did good job of throwing strikes with all pitches and generally attacking hitters. Hits with good shift into contact, line drive swing plane with whole-field approach and overall solid contact ability. Excellent student.
