Matthew Barmakian is a 2018 1B/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends Westfield. Large frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary first baseman with compact, deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Clean glove actions with developing fluidity while working through exchange. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot topping at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Stays balanced throughout with rotational lower half actions to contact. Direct, compact hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field producing sharp line drive contact between the gaps when squared. Very good student as well.
