Kirk McLean is a 2019 SS/P, OF with a 5-3 100 lb. frame from Upper Marlboro, MD who attends St Stephen's & St Agnes. Young athletic build, will gain strength as he matures. Hits from a square stance with a narrow upright base. Line drive swing plane with a short path to the ball. Gets barrel through zone and has feel to get barrel to the ball. Has soft line drive contact to the pull side. Has good mechanics and repeats swing well. Made consistent contact off barrel. Has tools at plate and should continue to improve as he adds strength and matures. Defensively, long strides to ball, keeps balanced, fields ball out front, arm strength is developing, has good accuracy. Also pitches. high 3/4 arm slot with a medium arm action. Consistent arm speed at release point. Filled up strike zone. Outstanding Student.
