Jalen Saiz is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-9 200 lb. frame from Highlands Ranch, CO who attends Mountain Vista HS. Thick barrel chested build, has good strength. Slow paced step by step delivery, compact arm action from a high 3/4's slot, arm works very well coming through, power pitcher's arm action. Gets downhill well with a mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, very heavy fastball with bowling ball life at times. Threw two different breaking balls at a similar velocity, two distinct pitches. Curveball is a big breaker thrown for strikes, slider is a shorter pitch designed to get strikes out of the zone, both are quality pitches and used well, can throw curveball more often in particular. Has tools and some good pitches even with unconventional pitcher's build. Right handed hitter who swung the bat well in games and was aggressive.
