Bryson Smith is a 2018 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Villa Rica, GA who attends Villa Rica HS. Tall, lean very slender build, minimal present strength. Upper half delivery with limited lower half or core use, tight 3/4's arm slot, lands with a stiff front leg and spins off to first base. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 76 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Slider has good depth and tight rotation and his is best secondary pitch, tends to slow arm on curveball and cast it with softer spin. Rare developing change up. Will continue to improve with additional strength and some mechanical adjustments. Right handed hitter, huge hand hitch load, has some feel for the barrel and works the middle of the field, line drive swing plane. 7.27 runner, showed good athleticism in outfield drills, gets to the ball quickly and has a quick release. Good student.
