Sam Gooch is a 2024 OF/SS with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Bethesda, MD who attends Home School. Has a slender frame with athletic traits. High-waisted kid with projectable build. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who fields the ball off to the side, gathers around the waist and works into his throw. Gets some momentum working through the ball. Deliberate actions. Throws carried well with accuracy to the bag. Has a higher slot with some strength, getting throws out at 84 mph from the outfield. Also worked out as an infielder. Fields it with two hands out in front, working into the throw with shorter arm action. Throws came out from a three-quarters slot, adjusting the slot as needed. Throws across were at 81 mph and made the plays. A right-handed hitter with high-set hands and a high back elbow. His feet start wide in the stance with a leg lift trigger. He stays on plane with pitches, getting the hands through the zone with some bat speed. He rotates through contact, impacting it and controlling the barrel. Produced an 84 mph exit velocity.
