Nolan Tenpas is a 2017 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westwood. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and broad shoulders, present physical strength with additional room to still fill out. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows a slight pause at top of leg lift before driving towards the plate, creates nice extension out front with a full arm stroke through the back working to a high three-quarters slot. Ball comes out of hand cleanly and topped out at 86 mph with heavy life and natural cut action, gets out of sync with timing and release point occasionally. Curveball shows nice 11-5 shape with quality depth at 72 mph, also showed a slider at 77 mph, both have tight spin. Similar arm action at first base, gets on top of throws and shows plane and accuracy, ball comes out well, actions with glove will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and an upright stance in the box. Loads with a front knee coil and pulls hands back at start but stays short to the ball with path, looks to create leverage at the point of contact. Long stride moving into contact, upper body dominant swing, creates sound carry off the barrel to pull side when timing is on. Very good student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
