KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Emma Gipple is a 5'10, class of 2022, C/1B, OF, UT from Urbandale, IA who attends Dowling Catholic HS. Emma is a very talented upper class performer, with a projectable ability that says that she not only has the ability to play at the next level, but that she has the probability to play well in college. She ran a very respectable 3.37 20-yard dash with a solid 1.16 5-yard split. As a primary catcher, Emma shows a solid college-ready game. She has sound positional awareness and an athleticism that is rarely found at the catcher position. She has an easy set up and presents a low profile at the ready. Her hands are soft and smooth and she transitions well. He has a quick trigger and her 55-mph throws are firm and true. Her 2.00 pop time is elite. College ready receiver. Emma also took a turn at first base and was just as impressive. She is just a really mature and sound athlete and that plays at first. All of her actions around the bag are advanced. Some bounce to her readiness. She positions comfortably. Her glove is soft and plays well. Her transition is quick. Her 58-mph throws are powerful and accurate. Emma is an elite defender at two tough positions. At the plate, Emma brings that same poised and polished approach to her offensive game. She is an accomplished bunter and even though her style probably fits more into the run production part of the game rather than run creation, she can handle the short game. There is an obvious rhythm and ease to her operation. She is quiet and easy in/with her approach. She has noticeable strength in her hands. She starts with a flatter bat path and is quick and direct to the hitting zone. She has a slugger's lift at contact. Plus feel for the barrel. Easy power to all parts of the field. Emma is a emerging star at the plate. Emma has a complete and admirable skill set. She, with continued attention to detail, dedication to the weight room, and a fearless approach to improving her already impressive game, will be an outstanding collegiate player. Like her future! High ceiling!
