2026 8U GREENSBORO FIREFIGHTERS CHARITY HALLOWEEN EVENT (OPEN)
THIS IS A CHARITY EVENT FOR GREENSBORO FIREFIGHTERS RAISING MONEY FOR GREENSBORO FIREFIGHTERS CHARITABLE FUND AND GREENSBORO FIREFIGHTERS HISTORICAL SOCIETY. Events will start Friday, October 23rd at Carolyn Allen Park at 4PM for a trunk or treat, TRUNK OR TREAT WILL GO UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE ENTIRE EVENT. Costumes are welcomed and encouraged! This is optional to attend but please encourage your local players to come out for an amazing and fun Halloween event, raising money for a good cause. This is a great opportunity to warm your players up for this weekend's tournament. Please let us know if you would like to set up a candy trunk, or if you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring the event by texting Hannah at 910-818-7783. Sponsorship comes with social media advertisement and a tent space for the event, as well as your logo on the event banner featured in social media posts. Homerun Derby & roadrunner race sign-ups will start Friday at 4pm, and events will begin at 4:30 and go until 7:30pm. This is a floating event, you are welcome to come at any time and jump in. At 7:45, we will begin the roadrunner race. This race will consist of running around the bases with the fastest recorded time. Signups for both events are $10 for a round. Homerun derby round will consist of 60 seconds to hit the most over the fence homeruns. Hitting distance from the fence will depend on age group. Roadrunner race round will consist of one attempt to run the bases at full speed. Participants are allowed to compete as many times as they would like and for each event, the participants best round will be taken. Sign-ups for homerun derby and roadrunner race are encouraged to be done ahead of time at the link below, but also able to sign up at the complex as well. The tournament Saturday and Sunday will be held at Lathem for softball and Market Street for baseball. ALL proceeds from Friday's events, all teams playing at Lathem Park and Market street Saturday and Sunday & all t-shirt proceeds for the whole tournament will go directly to Greensboro Firefighter's Charitable Fund. The Greensboro Firefighters Charitable Fund is a 501-C 3 nonprofit that benefits your local sick and injured firefighters, their families, and local events such as Coats For Kids. This WILL be a costume tournament where teams are invited and encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes while on the field. Please make sure numbers are somewhere on the costumes!

Friday Nights events at Carolyn Allen Park (taking donations at the gate but no payment required for entry) 
Music, trunk or treat, candy and competitions! 
- Trunk or treat- starting at 4pm in the center of Carolyn Allen. 
- Homerun Derby and roadrunner race signups are online beforehand but also available to sign up at the complex at 4:30 or anytime before 7:30pm. Homerun derby will begin at 6pm 
- Awards for winners include rings, medals, trophies, and gift cards!
