Team

One rung below Flagship, these are the proving grounds for national contenders. Top programs from across the country, tough brackets and scouts on hand – strong performances here move team and player rankings.

These are state and regional events where teams hone their skills against emerging competition, start to earn higher rankings, and qualify for the national stage while mostly playing closer to home.

-Banana Ball Pool Play Rules-
Forget ordinary pool play. December 5th, we’re tossing a few traditional softball rules under the Christmas tree and going BANANAS!

> 5-Run Maximum
There is a 5-run maximum per inning.

> Win the Inning
Score more runs than your opponent in an inning and your team earns 1 point. In the final inning, every run counts as 1 point!

> Golden Batter
Once per game, a coach may send ANY player on the roster to bat, regardless of whose turn it is. Choose wisely!

> Golden Runner
Once per game, a coach may replace ANY runner with ANY player on the roster.

> Steal First
Why wait for a hit? A batter may attempt to steal first base on any passed ball or wild pitch, regardless of the count!

> No Bunting
No little taps here. SWING AWAY!

> No Intentional Walks
You came to play ball, so pitch to the batter!

> Fan Catch
Fans, you’re officially part of the game! If a spectator catches a fly foul ball before it touches the ground, the batter is OUT!

> Coach Pinch Runner
Time to see what Coach has left in the tank! At least once per game, a coach MUST pinch run for any eligible player! . And yes, THE BALL IS LIVE! Better stretch first!!

> BANANA BALL!
Once per game, the umpire can randomly declare a BANANA AT-BAT before the batter steps into the box. Expect the unexpected!

** POOL PLAY SCORING **
Pool play games use these Banana Ball rules. Pool play standings are determined by points earned from winning innings plus runs scored in the final inning, rather than simply by the final run total.

~Tournament fees are due the MONDAY BY 4P the week of the tournament

PERFECT GAME DOES NOT HAVE SANCTION FEES FOR YOUR TEAM.
It is FREE to sign your team up! If you need a simple guide, please text Michelle.

-------GAME SCORING--------
~PG prefers to use Diamondkast, however it is NOT required.
~If a tournament does not have reduced pricing, we will have people scoring the games for you. If a tournament has a reduced price, DK will not be scored by a third party.
~DK is free on the PG Scoring App- You only need a subscription to see the stats on the PG website.
~Leaderboards will be generated as well.

If you choose to use only gamechanger to score, please export the stats to mnuovo@perfectgame.org by Sunday at Midnight after the tournament for a chance to be selected for the Area Code games!
