2023 PG Softball Oklahoma City Scouting Combine
Jaylen Welch is a 2025 SS from Vidor, TX who attends Vidor. Jaylen not only showed she can handle the middle of the infield at our Oklahoma City combine this past June but she also get it done in the class room. She maintains a GPA of 4.2 and understands what it takes to be a student athlete. One thing that stood out to me about Jaylen is she is a natural leader on the field. The intangibles are something she has and does not need to be told to do them. On defense, she does not take a ball off. Gets a good first step to the ball and does a good job keeping her feet moving as she moves through the ball. She constantly showed the will to want to make every play. Offensively, she is a right handed power hitter who shows big power potential when she connects. Has good balance and incredibly fast hands to the ball. Overall she has solid mechanics at the plate. Jaylen is a player that adds value to any team, because her presence is contagious. She goes 100 percent every play, swing and does not take a pitch off. I am excited to continue to watch this athlete develop and progress, because she has the tools to play at the next level.
