David Acosta is a slender 6'0", 2005 infielder from Miami who showed us a good range of tools. He has smooth actions and a sure glove in the infield and enough arm strength to make the plays at shortstop at the next level. He runs OK and Acosta shows plenty of body life and balance in the field. During batting practice, Acosta had some back side collapse and a long swing that had some extension and loft. During games he shortened things up and stopped trying to loft the ball and had some real nice at bats, hitting a number of hard line drives and getting three game hits.
