Drew Mobley is a 2011 RHP/C/1B with a 6'1'', 190 lb. frame from Madison, AL who attends Madison Academy. He is very young at only 14 years old but has a strong body for his age with some thickness in his midsection. Mobley has a rotational upper half delivery with little lower half in his delivery. He has a short, compact arm action that doesn't extend much out front. Mobley's fastball was up to 81 mph with some arm side run. We didn't see Mobley throw a breaking ball, although he did throw a couple of 72 mph change ups. Mobley is also a catcher and we like him at least as much as a position/hitting prospect. He receives the ball cleanly behind the plate and showed his arm strength well. Mobley has a big power approach at the plate and takes a full, aggressive swing that produces impressive bat speed for his age. His swing is long but he was able to get to inside pitches well. He's looking to hit home runs and he's going to hit some. Follow him both ways but our bet is on his developing as a position player/hitter first.

Drew Mobley is a 2011 RHP/C with a 5'11'', 182 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL, who attends Madison Academy. Mobley was the youngest player in attendance and showed well. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side and good arm speed. Mobley uses his lower half well in his delivery with balance throughout. His fastball topped out at 77 mph with arm side run, and he will throw much harder as he grows and matures. Throws strikes with his fastball and his 67 mph curveball with 10/4 break. Mobley has very good upside on the mound. At the plate he is a switch hitter who takes an aggressive swing. Has bat speed through the hitting zone and shows projectable raw power. Mobley turns on the ball well and handles the inside fastball well. He is a very young player with very good upside, and it will be fun to watch him develop.
