Cisco Garcia -- Garcia is a lean athletically framed junior second baseman/outfielder from Washington. He played both positions in Fort Myers and had very solid fundamentals and excellent instincts at each one. Garcia made one outstanding catch in center going back to the wall that we took special note of. His instincts make him play faster than his running times indicate and he runs fairly well. Garcia is a switch hitter with a much better approach and better bat speed from the right side. He showed a very good ability to put the bat head on the ball from both sides, but he tends to feel for it left handed as opposed to driving it right handed. He looks like a nice hitter and could hit for a high average.

Garcia worked out as both an outfielder and an infielder during drills but we like his actions and ability more in the outfield. His arm strength was a full grade better in the outfield and he moved much better to the ball. Garcia’s 7.31 speed will enable him to play the corner positions, too. Garcia is a switch hitter who has more bat speed and better balance from the right side. He's an interesting "05".

Garcia is a small but effective outfielder from Washington who impressed us with his bat. He did not run as well in the 60 as he did on the base-paths but he threw well from the outfield and has good natural fielding instincts. With his bat he has a good productive swing and does not try to be more than the singles hitter that he is. He has good hands, is short to the ball and hits very well with wood for a smaller player. He is the kind of player that we like to follow because he does everything well and when these types of players develop more size they turn into good looking prospects. Watch him, he is young.
