Cody Wilson is a 2008 LHP with a 6'4'', 180 lb. frame from Newark CA, who attends Newark Memorial HS. He has a long, lanky, rangy build that suggests significant physical projection. It is an excellent pitcher's frame. Wilson is the type of lefty that just keeps on getting better until at some point scouts and D1 coaches look up and he has become a prospect. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot with and easy, long arm action. He displays good body control and as he continues to get stronger, he should be able to repeat his delivery on a consistent basic. Wilson showed that he can pitch a bit and also displayed some mound presence. His fastball was in the upper-70s, topping at 79 mph and had some run. His curveball (68 mph) is a quality pitch, with good spin, depth, and feel. He pitched in to RH hitters well, always a good thing to see from a young left that does not yet have a big fastball. He should be followed closely.
