Christopher Myers is a 2009 C/3B/1B with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a very good build for his age and the potential to get very strong in the future. Myers was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Myers best tool is his bat. He has solid bat speed and has a good approach and puts himself in position to hit. He has very good power for his age and is just going to keep getting stronger and drive the ball farther. He has lift and extension in his swing. Myers will get long on occasion like most power hitters. Defensively, Myers shows soft hands receiving the ball and has good arm strength for his age. His best pop in drills was 1.99. Myers has lots of work to do with his footwork and release fundamentals, which is understandable for a young catcher. He'll also have to work on his athletic quickness and running ability. His bat is very intersting, though, and will carry him as the rest of his game comes together. Good Follow. Myers is also a good student.
