Julian Bustamante is a 2009 SS/OF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Cerritos, CA, who attends Valley Christian High School. Bustamante is a young player with a medium frame. Defensively he has nice footwork defensively that allows him to get in the proper fielding position. Bustamante also receives the ball well showing soft hands. He has a long arm action on his throws, but he has solid arm strength for his age at 76 mph across the infield. He has upside defensively. At the plate he is a switch hitter who hits from a closed and crouched stance. He has an inside out swing and he stays inside the ball with the ability to hit to all fields. Bustamante tracks pitches well and doesn't swing at pitches out of the zone. He shows bat speed at times as well. Bustamante is also a good student.
