Chris Peterson is a 6'2/195 2005 OF from Delray Beach, FL, with very good present strength and classic right field tools. He has a cannon arm from the outfield and had excellent on-line carry on his throws. Peterson moves well athletically in the outfield as well. At the plate, Peterson hits from a tall stance with a small knee lift trigger. He tends to get out front early in his swing and hit around the ball, but generates very good bat speed. When Peterson lets the ball get to him and stays inside it, he’ll flash some good raw power potential to the middle of the field. Peterson has the physical tools to keep improving and be a very solid player at the upper college level. Chris is a very good player and a good student.

Chris Peterson -- Peterson is a big strong junior outfielder from Florida with a nice athletic frame. He showed us good hand strength at the plate and does a nice job of clearing his hips and pulling the ball hard. Peterson made consistent solid contact in both batting practice and in games. He could improve his future power potential by getting more extension to his swing and he has the strength and bat speed to do this with some adjustments. Peterson ran well enough to be playable in the corner outfield positions. Peterson threw 2 innings also and showed some arm strength, throwing 80-81 mph on his fastball with good cutting action and flashing good spin on a low 70’s curveball. He also threw 84 mph from the outfield. Chris is a good student.

Peterson has a pro type body right now at 6-2, 190 lbs despite being just a junior. Although his skills are a bit on the raw side, Peterson also has some close to average physical tools right now, too. His best present tool is his arm strength, which is big league average from the outfield. Peterson is also a strong runner with 7.0 speed in the 60. Plenty of Peterson’s work over the next two years will go into his hitting. He doesn’t have much lower half involvement in his swing now, but should have the strength and leverage to improve significantly. He generates excellent bat speed now with using mostly all top half rotation. He's strong now and still has two years of high school ball left! Could be a big sleeper for the "05" draft. Chris is a very good student.

Chris has some tools. He showed a strong arm in the outfield that was very accurate. He has a nice swing with bat speed and showed power potential. He runs a little and has a great baseball body. His arm works very good. Only an "05" he's someone to keep close eye on.
