Brad Hopek is a 2009 1B/LHP with a 6'1", 160 lb frame from Stuart, FL who attends Jensen Beach HS. Brad has a lean athletic build with a good amount of room to fill out. At the plate Brad has a short swing with solid bat speed and shows solid middle of the field contact. He is a little too closed in his approach and really cuts himself on inside pitches. In the field Brad has a quick arm at first base with good hands. He looks very comfortable around the bag and his actions are clean. On the mound Brad has a slow deliberate delivery and throws from a long two-peice arm action. He gets good armside run on his change-up and makes hitters swing and miss a lot. Brad is a very strong student that could attract the attention of some small to mid-level college programs.
