Taylor Richardson is a 2009 OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Tustin, CA who attends Tustin HS. He has a lean athletic body type on a nice frame that will fill out in the coming years. Richardson is a good ballplayer and has tools that will get bigger and bigger as he gets stronger. Offensively he has good hitting tools, with a quick bat and a short, flat, balanced swing. Richardson made a lot of hard barrel contact and keeps the barrel in the zone as it trails his hands. There was a loud crack at contact and he showed some present day power. Richardson is not physically imposing but he has strength in his hands and life in his body. Watch him closely because he could really really come on with the bat. The better his timing mechanism is, the better he is. Defensively Richardson showed off a strong arm (87 mph) and his throws were accurate, with good carry. He has a nice release and could evolve into a solid right fielder. Richardson is a good student and just might have big things in store for him at the college level and someday beyond.
