Dylan Betancourt is a 2010 RHP/OF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Claremont CA, who attends Claremont HS. He has a strong, compact body type and is a good looking young player. The tools that stands out most right now is his raw arm strength, which actually shows better in the outfield than on the mound presently. On the mound he uses a drop and drive type delivery and controls his body well. His arm action is short. Betancourt is a strike thower and works down in the zone. His fastball (77-80 mph) has some movement and his change-up (65 mph) has some sink. He also has a slow curveball. Offensively Betancourt also showed some ability. He has good bat speed for a young player, with a flat swing and banged the ball the other way well. In the outfield he approaches the ball very well and has a short release. The ball comes out of his hand easily and it is a strong arm. Betancourt looks like a well-coached young player and has good physical ability.
