Jose Rodriguez is a 2008 middle infielder from Orlando, Florida who attends University High School. He has a lean athletic build at 5'8" 148 pounds. Jose had a very strong performance in the workout. He ran a 7.20 60 and threw 86 mph from the outfield and 83 mph from the infield. He is a switch hitter who has a calm approach at the plate. He keeps his hands inside the ball from both sides of the plate. He makes solid contact from the left side and has a little bit better bat speed from the right side. Rodriguez has a very strong arm in the outfield with plus fundamentals. His throws were very accurate with a solid release. His tools in the outfield were solid for the next level and he has clean infield actions. Jose is a solid student with a promising future.

Jose Rodriguez is a 2008 MIF/3B from University HS in Orlando, FL, with a 5'8", 145 lb. frame. Jose has a small build and did well in the workout session of the showcase. At the plate Jose showed a short aggressive swing from the right side. From the left side Jose showed a smooth swing with little effort and produced solid contact. At the plate Jose looked much more comfortable from the left side. Jose showed solid IF actions with good arm strength and range. He showed good balance and solid hands in the field.
