Cyrus Harper is a 2007 LHP with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Birmingham AL, who attends Oak Mountain HS. He has a lean, athletic build that projects well for adding strength. Harper throws from a standard 3/4's slot and gets his body well out in front of his arm during his delivery, causing his arm to lag behind and come through late. His fastball was 80-82 mph, touch 83. Harper's best pitch was a deceptive change up at 74 mph. His arm action kept him from getting consistent spin and break on his curveball. Harper was around the plate with all his pitches. Some adjustments in his delivery could unleash some more velocity and he already shows a good fastball for a southpaw. Harper also showed some bat speed at the plate with an aggressive approach and some power potential. He is a very good student.
