Juan Aviles is a 2007 2B/OF with a 5'9'', 157 lb. frame from Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, who attends PRBB Academy HS. Juan has a lean build with quite a bit of room to fill out. In the games Juan showed a nice approach at the plate and the ability to hit the ball to all fields. He has good swing fundamentals and keeps his hands inside the ball well at the plate. He will really just need to add some strength to see his potential maximized. In the field Juan has very smooth actions with good body control. He seems to be able to make most plays in the field and could play either second or third base. Juan is a good student that could attract the attention of some smaller college programs.

Juan Aviles is a 2007 IF/OF from Baseball Academy in Vega Alta, PR, with a 5'8'', 152 lb. frame. Aviles has a lean, athletic frame that produces consistent results on the field. Offensively Aviles has a short, smooth stroke, with a very level bat plane that produces consistently hard contact. With added strength and extension in his swing, Aviles could flourish into a college level prospect at the plate. In the field Aviles shows solid hands with a short, compact arm action that produces consistently accurate throws. Increased arm strength, which should come with age, will greatly help Aviles defensively. With two more years left until college, Aviles has the basic skills needed to have a future in college baseball. He will need to get quite a bit stronger, and clean up some aspects of his game to reach his full potential.
