LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 Holiday Open
Orlando Colon is a 2007 3B/RHP/OF from Humacao, Puerto Rico with a 6'2", 198 lb. frame. With one of the best bodies in the showcase Orlando is a very projectable player. Defensively Orlando showed good arm strength at 3B, with accurate throws across the diamond. Orlando is a switch hitter who profiles very well from the left side of the plate. He showed a quick bat, with very good power potential, and has the ability to turn on a ball very easily. From the right side of the plate he produces a level swing, that sprays line drives around the field. Orlando will be a player that could develop into a power hitting LH prospect at the next level with continued progression. On the mound Orlando shows a long loose arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Orlando showed a solid 80-83 FB, that he was not afraid to come inside with. He shows a solid split, that he could use more often to complement his FB. Orlando has the body and arm strength right now to be a prospect for the next level with continued development.
