Coire Barnitz is a 2007 OF/3B that attends Granby HS and resides in Norfolk, VA with a 5'11", 150 lb. frame. Coire has a lean athletic build with room to fill out. At the plate Coire has a line-drive swing plane and makes consistent contact. He will tend to get long in his swing and rotate too early. Once he shortens his swing and keeps his front side on the ball longer he should be able to drive the ball more consistently. In the outfield Coire has good fundamentals and good balance. He shows solid arm strength and enough speed to play the corner outfield positions. On the mound Coire throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. Coire throws strikes but tends to cut himself off some in his delivery. Coire is a solid student that could attract attention from some small colleges.
