Guy Mecham is a 2007 2B/SS with a 5'10'', 147 lb. frame from Heber City, UT, who attends Wasatch HS. Meacham has a lean and medium frame. Defensively he has good footwork in the middle of the diamond with a good ball transfer. He has solid arm strength on his throws across the diamond at 77 mph. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance that he closes off well at contact. Mecham stands away from the plate so he can get his arms extended, and the ball jumps off his bat. He keeps his hands back well on breaking balls, and has the ability to hit line drives to all fields. Mecham keeps his head still and has very good hand-eye coordination. He has all of the skills to be a high average hitter at the next level. Once on the bases he has good instincts with speed and quickness. He is also a good student.

Guy Mecham is a 2007 2B/SS from Wasatch HS, residing in Heber City, UT, with a 5'10" 138 lb. frame. Has a small frame and thin build. At the plate he starts out with an arm bar load. Showed good hands with the bat and decent bat speed. Also showed some some balance in his swing. Future strength gains will enhance his offensive skills. Mecham did a nice job of staying in the middle of the field. Has a slinging arm action across the diamond with some arm strength. He goes to the ball well. Showed good hands and decent feet. Displayed some actions and was good on the turn at 2B from SS. His elbow gets little low on his throws, causing some inaccuracy. Mecham has good agility and he showed it my making a nice leaping stab of a line drive ticketed to RF. Overall he is a pretty fundamentally sound infielder that should make a fine 2nd baseman. Physical maturation is the key for his future, to determine the level of college ball he will play. At this point he is a small college prospect.
