Dan Lazarou is a 2007 RHP with a 6'5'', 200 lb. frame from Newmarket ON, who attends Newmarket HS. He has a tall and lean build with excellent projectablility. Lazarou throws from a high leg kick delivery and does a good job staying balanced and keeping his weight back and using his legs. His delivery is well paced and his arm stroke smooth and easy. In fact, everything is so smooth and easy that Lazarou doesn't offer much deception to the hitter at present, which is something that he can work on with good coaching. His fastball topped out at 86 mph with some tailing action to it and projects to get harder in the future. Lazarou's curveball was his best pitch at 73 mph, it had good hard biting action at times with nice 2-plane break. He mixed in a few 78 mph change ups as well. Lazarou has gained about 4 mph of velocity in the last year and it wouldn't be surprising to see him keep improving as he gets stronger and more mature. Good follow.
