Ricardo Flores is a 2006 MIF with a 5'9'', 150 lb. frame from Clive, IA, who attends Valley HS. He has a medium frame with athleticism and room to fill out. Flores has good first step quickness and has better game speed than his sixty time might suggest. Defensively he has solid arm strength to handle either middle infield position. Flores has nice footwork and moves very well with quickness and ease. During the games he showed great range and handled slow rollers well. He has soft hands with glove instincts who can make all of the plays. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with solid bat speed. Flores is a contact hitter who will consistently hit balls hard to the gaps. He does get under the ball at times, but he centers the ball more often. Flores is a confident looking player who can make things happen at the plate and in the field. He is a fun player to watch, and he has good upside to his game. Also an outstanding student.

Ricardo Flores is a 5-9, 145 lb senior middle infielder from Iowa with some wiry strength to him and good body life. His best position at the showcase was second base, where he showed very good range, nice body control and good hand quickness. Flores tended to rush things a bit at shortstop and his raw arm strength is better suited for the right side of the diamond. He could improve his arm strength by working through the ball more and not throwing so much off his back leg. He made the routine plays comfortably and got to some balls that other infielders would have had problems with. Offensively, Flores has some bat speed with some lift in his swing. He showed the ability to handle the bat head and made solid contact to the middle of the field. He likely hits for some power with metal against high school pitchers and has the ability to make some adjustments and hit against better pitchers as well. Flores had a couple of at bats where he battled hard and fouled off some pitches before making solid contact. He's a good all around player who should keep improving. Flores is also an excellent student.
