Nick Gastin is a 2017 SS/2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Lagrangeville, NY who attends Our Lady Of Lourdes High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and sports present strength, additional room to still fill out. Ran a 4.98 40-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet to get behind the ball, wide base fielding, works through the backhand, arm strength plays on the left side of infield very well, clean through the back and comes out well, gets on top of throws, 88 mph across, multiple arm slots with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, square stance in the box and does a nice job of remaining balanced through swing. Creates nice bat speed through the zone and looks to elevate the ball at point of contact. Coils well and comes out on time, shows nice strength off the barrel and still projects for more with physical growth. Named to Northeast Indoor-NJ Top Prospect List. Signed with Stony Brook.
