David Nelson is a 2015 C/3B, 1B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Weare, NH who attends John Stark Regional. Extra-large, athletic build with long limbs and and nice present strength with some room to fill out. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows sound and athletic actions behind the plate, blocks well in the dirt, nice footwork on throws with a strong and accurate arm and quick release. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base, closed stance and a low hand set. Quiet set up, short path to the ball with lift in swing, and gets hips through well. Showed ability to hit to all fields in batting practice and in game with hard line drive contact and a sound approach at the plate. Verbal commitment to Franklin Pierce. Good student.
