D'Vontrey Richardson is a 2006 OF from Lee County HS in Smithville, GA, with a 6'2", 200 lb. frame. He is one of the most impressive physical specimen's you're likely to see on a baseball field and he has reportedly committed to play football at Florida State. Richardson is extra strong but still retains plenty of looseness and speed. He ran the 60 in 6.42, which is scary speed when you think that Richardson in a football uniform could easily end up 6-3, 235. Richardson threw 86 mph during outfield drills despite throwing a 7 inning game on the mound the day before, so he has two plus present tools. Richardson's swing is a bit long and raw now but he shows good natural balance at the plate, a good swing plane and plus bat speed. His power potential is outstanding if he can get the repetitions and coaching. Richardson is a big time sleeper for baseball and one of the best athletes in the country. Huge Potential!
