Michael Matheis is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Immaculata-La Salle. Tall, athletic build with some present strength, looks projectable. Ran a 7.36 60 yard. Pitches from a 3/4 arm slot, nice long arm action, low effort, methodical tempo, needs to get his legs more involved, compact delivery. Sits 78-81 mph with his fastball, works down in the strike zone. Has the makings of a very good curveball, 11-5 rotation, flashes nice depth, well spotted, could be a future out pitch, tops at 73 mph. Has an idea out there, good upside. Also hits, lefty hitter, bats from an open stance, pull side approach, fluid swing, tendency is there to pull off the ball. Good approach. Has athleticism at 1st base, good feet around the bag, good hands, throws are accurate. Excellent student.
