Matthew Buckalew is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Starr's Mill HS. Buckalew has a big frame with a slender projectable build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long extended slinging arm action. He is inline at balance point and spins over his frontside at release. Buckalew can get more use from his lower half to gain some velocity. He throws an 11/5 curveball with developing spin and shape to it. He threw a few with some bite to it. At the plate, Buckalew looks to pull the ball and made some solid contact to the pullside. He has some length to his swing with developing bat speed. Good student.
